By Car

Travelling west on the M4, leave the motorway at junction 42 and follow signs for Swansea on the A483 (Fabian Way). The Bay Campus is situated to the left-hand side of Fabian Way and the main entrance is controlled by traffic lights. Visitor parking is limited on Bay Campus, however there is a large Park and Ride facility located at Fabian Way, which is a short distance from the Bay Campus.

By Train

The train station is in the City Centre. From there the fastest is to take a taxi outside the station – ask to be taken to the ‘Bay Campus’. For finding trains and tickets, use the trainline site (www.trainline.com) and mobile phone app. If you reach London via the Eurostar, tranfer to Paddington Station – from there it is another 3-4 hours. Book tickets in advance and avoid rush hours for cheaper tickets.

Be aware that the rail link between London and Swansea will be undergoing maintenance work between 3 and 19 July (see more details here). The connection will still be guaranteed, but there will be delays. You can also check the direct bus connection from Bristol airport to Swansea (new!).

By Air

If you arrive at Heathrow airport, take a train to Swansea, or a bus (National Express or, much cheaper, Megabus). If you arrive by bus, get out at ‘Swansea University Bay Campus’. The same applies if you arrive at Gatwick airport (much further away though). Bristol airport and Cardiff airport are closer to Swansea and you can reach Swansea via Bus or Bus+Train (note that Cardiff is the closest airport, but the connections are really not great). Birmingham airport (+train to Swansea) is an alternative option.

Buses

Bus services are available into Swansea City centre and onwards from the side of the Tower Information Centre and one on the side of the main road. For those wishing to head to the Mumbles, head to the main city centre bus stop for onwards travel. The timetables can be access via the First Bus App or at Timetables | First Bus.

Santander Bike Scheme

Bikes are available for hire from outside the School of Management if a ride along the Swansea Seafront takes your fancy.  To get started scan the QR code on the information sign found at the bike racks. To bike into the city centre takes circa 20 minutes (2.5 – 3.5 miles, depending where you want to go).

Taxi

For taxi’s on campus we suggest asking for collection outside of the onsite Tesco store. Popular taxi companies include Data Cabs (01792 474747) and Yellowcabs (01792 644446) or can be booked on the website at https://www.yellowcabswales.co.uk/

Uber

Uber service is now working well in Swansea.
